Most Frequently Asked Questions

1. We are looking for one Company who can take on the whole job. Is this something
Timbercraft can do?

Timbercraft specialises in large complicated installations. We undertake the following work:

- Building and plastering
- Electrics
- Plumbing and gas fitting
- Kitchen bathroom and bedroom installation
- General carpentry
- Tiling
- Decorating

2. How can we be reassured that the work will be effectively supervised?
Yes, Timbercraft employ in house Installation Supervisors. They are very experienced installers themselves and their primary function is to ensure that installations run smoothly and that the high standards of workmanship that we insist upon are maintained.

3. Many people who have kitchens and bathrooms installed complain afterwards that the job was never finished properly. How can we be sure that Timbercraft will be any different to other companies in this respect?
As well as our Installation Supervisors we employ two dedicated Customer Service Managers (one for kitchens and bedrooms, one for bathrooms) whose role is to liaise with fitters and customers to ensure that any minor niggles are sorted out to the complete satisfaction of our clients. All jobs are closely managed literally on an hour by hour basis, to ensure that disruption to peoples domestic life is kept to a minimum.

4. Many Companies, even large well respected names, require payment in full up to 2 weeks before the job starts. What are Timbercraft,s payment terms ?
We have always taken the view that this approach is fundamentally wrong and that customers should be allowed to retain substantial monies until a job is completed. This not only affords the client with financial leverage but it ensures the we, as a Company, remain focused upon finishing the work to the complete satisfaction of the client.

We require three phased payments:
a. Deposit with order
Every order is unique to that client and goods purchased by ourselves cannot readily be reused elsewhere, so we require a deposit with every order.
b. Interim payment.
We require a large payment when goods are delivered to site and pass into the possession of the client. We only deliver goods after the installation has begun. Deliveries are made in such a way as to minimise disruption to the client
c. Final payment.
All installations are monitored throughout by our Installations Supervisors. The relevant Customer Service Manager will only raise a final invoice when it has been ascertained that the clients are fully satisfied.

5. Do you use sub contract labour?
Most of our fitters are PAYE employees of Timbercraft and have been with us for many years. We also use some self employed people who work almost exclusively for us.

Our Installations Director personally manages the scheduling of all works so that wherever possible, on site work is a continuous process, even when several different trades are involved.

Timbercraft is responsible for the standard of workmanship of all the people who we employ on each project, whether thy are self employed or our own staff. We never sub contract installations to other Companies. We place the highest priority upon maintaining the high quality and integrity of our fitters.

6. Are your prices competitive?
Yes. We do not claim to be the cheapest people in the market but we do believe that we offer the very best value for money for the overall service that we offer. We only supply high quality products and our Installation Service is unrivalled. With Timbercraft you can be assured that you are dealing with a thoroughly reliable Company which can undertake everything you need with a superior level of competence.

Each of our designers is skilled in interpreting your requirements to give you the best deal possible for your money.

7. Are your installations guaranteed?
All of our units carry a 10 year guarantee.
Branded goods, eg electrical appliances are subject to their own individual manufacturers warranties. We guarantee our workmanship for 3 years.

Our reputation is as a quality Company and we reserve the right to extend our guarantee period at our discretion. We believe our back up service is second to none

8. Do we have to clear away our own rubbish?
No. Timbercraft clears away all site debris within the overall price. The only exception to this service are c.f.c. bearing old refridgeration products. Generally we make several site clearances during an installation to keep sites as rubbish free as possible.

9. How long do we have to wait if we order?
Our lead time from ordering is generally 6 to 8 weeks. Jobs usually take a couple of weeks or more depending upon their size. Your Designer can provide with full details of how the job will proceed.
