Fitted Kitchen

Our clients wanted to maximise the sense of space as the original kitchen was quite dated and dark so it was important to create a much lighter and more contemporary feel.

The main working kitchen area is compact so opting for gloss ivory cabinets immediately created a fresh feel and sense of space. There’s plenty of hidden storage with internal pull-outs and integrated appliances keep the streamlined aesthetic.

The Phoenix range is a high gloss acrylic which creates the appearance of a glass door. With it’s square edged design and almost mirror like reflective qualities, Phoenix gives a modern, sleek look.

Although a contemporary scheme Mr & Mrs R wanted to create a homely warmth to the interior and this has been achieved with the stunning Shivakashi granite worktops; a beautiful Indian granite with shades of cream and pink. The combination of the contemporary with the classic has worked to great effect.

The sink space is arguably the hardest-working part of the kitchen, as well as being a statement of style and this large, bowl and a half, undermounted ceramic sink from Franke rises to the challenge of both, perfectly. Mrs R chose to have three drainer grooves in between the two sinks and this has worked well to stop any water that falls on this area, running off the worktop.

For the flooring, Mrs R selected glazed porcelain, large format tiles. The Antares series has warm, metallic properties with a slightly iridescent effect creating a modern twist on the natural look. Large format tiles visually expand the size of a room when used on floors or walls. Not only will large tiles make a room appear larger but fewer grout joints means less maintenance!
