Fitted Kitchen

Our clients wanted to improve the functionality of their kitchen and make it a more comfortable place to eat, entertain and relax too.

A wall was removed between the original kitchen and dining room to create a large open plan space. The dining room window was replaced with bi-folding patio doors opening out onto the garden.

For the cabinetry Mr & Mrs U opted for a homely and earthy colour scheme. The simplicity of Broadoak Almond is perfectly suited to their requirements being a classic style with enduring appeal.

As there’s plenty of natural light in the room they were able to introduce darker colours to the scheme and the contrasting ‘Sonora’ Corian worktops with complementary toned floor tiles add depth to the design.

In a multi-functional space, keeping all tall housings together is important so not to overpower the room. Curved edges on the island are an elegant design touch and, when combined with the painted cabinetry in this kitchen, give a softer look for when the room becomes a hub for entertaining guests.

The layout scores highly on the practical front too, being very much a cook’s kitchen with plenty of worktop space including a dedicated preparation area in the form of the island plus ample hidden storage solutions, such as the tall pull-out larder unit and corner carousel.

Mrs U chose to have the glass splashback custom painted in Almond to match the units, creating a look which is elegant, polished and harmonious. The space is light and welcoming – whatever the season.
