Mr & Mrs W of Wickwar, Fitted Kitchen

Our clients wished to improve their existing kitchen design and incorporate additional storage. They were delighted when our designer was able to show them how removing a wall would look – an option that opened up the space and created a versatile, multi-functional area.

Milbourne cabinetry was selected; it’s classically proportioned Shaker style and subtle textured finish adds an air of simplicity to the design, allowing other features in the kitchen to come to the fore.

Alabaster is the ultimate neutral providing the perfect canvas for adding your own interior colour ideas; in this case the clients chose a palette of natural, earthy colours with yellow tones – bringing sunshine and warmth to the scheme.

DSC_0317The centrepiece of this kitchen is the island unit and the shaped piece of walnut, set at a different height to the granite, creates a handy place for dining and socialising. Mixing materials, colour and texture in this way helps to develop interest in a scheme.

The island houses hidden storage in the form of wide pan drawers plus wicker baskets, which not only add charm to the layout but also are practical for storing fresh food, like bread and vegetables.

The tambour unit allows for the highly accessible storage of toaster and coffee machine, which can be easily and discreetly hidden away with the roller door when not in use.

The new layout has proved to be very popular, particularly the island unit which is a great success and is enjoyed by all the family.
